Smoke Art and Photography

Mon Nov 9th, 2009:

My smoke comes from incense sticks burning throughout my house down in Nanuet. For some reason ever since I as a kid my parents burned incense everyday, I guess they like the smell, who knows. They went a little overboard with them recently and you would think they were smoking out the house at times. I’d go around blowing all of them out trying to keep things a little reasonable. But a few months back I saw one burning with a trail of smoke behind it and was curious on what type of pictures I can capture.
I set up a little spot in the dining room/living room and started taking some photos resulting in over 100 photographs. It wasn’t until a week or two ago I viewed a photographers portfolio that contained a batch of smoke photography that made me think about sifting through my own in order to display them for viewing. And today I’d like to post a couple I’ve taken as well as this link to 10 Amazing Smoke Art Pieces found on Oddee.com

I followed up on one link and found some great smoke work created by Mehmet Ozgur.
